While southern Apache Junction has drawn a lot of development interest in recent months, there remains significant activity in the city’s northern portion as well.
Of 29 ongoing residential and commercial projects in the northern section of the city of Apache Junction, six are under construction, the planning and zoning commission was told recently.
A total of 2,304 housing units — homes and apartments — are planned or under construction in that portion of the city, according to a document provided to commissioners.
Commercial projects are filling in vacant areas, said Development Services Director Larry Kirch said.
