Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly dominated his Republican challengers in the final three months of 2021 by raising nearly $9 million and banking more than $18 million in cash for a re-election battle that will help determine control of the evenly divided Senate.
Among Republican Senate candidates, Jim Lamon, the founder of DEPCOM Power, raised the most money, but it largely came from his own pocket.
Lamon loaned his campaign another $3 million in the final three months of the year, bringing his total for the year to $8 million in personal loans. Individual donors only chipped in about $200,000 for the quarter.
Of the donors who gave $200 or more, only $65,000 came from Arizonans.
Republican Blake Masters raised $1.6 million and finished the quarter with $1.8 million in cash. From the outset of his campaign, Masters also benefited from $10 million for a political action committee primarily funded by billionaire Peter Thiel, a founder of PayPal. Masters is the chief operating officer of Thiel Capital.
Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich raised $812,000 for the quarter and ended the year with $768,000. O’Halleran, $1.3 million
