Phoenix plans to redevelop 40 acres at the northwest corner of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and last week presented proposals from six companies on what they would build on the property.
Aviation Superintendent Richard Graham said the airport’s 20-year comprehensive asset management plan has designated the parcel for “general aviation” use but not for scheduled passenger service. He said airport staff had ideas of what it wanted for the property but put out a request for information to see if staff’s ideas aligned with those of developers.
The six proposals received included using all or part of the property for cargo, hangars for private planes or to repair planes, office space, parking lots and truck docks.
