Young Casa Grande council candidate concerned about housing, other issues

CASA GRANDE — The 2008 home lending crisis and the subsequent impact it had on families left a lasting impression on Casa Grande City Council candidate Devin Festa.

The 25-year-old first-time candidate knows only too well about the issues of housing affordability. Her family experienced the devastating effects of the subprime mortgage crisis.

”My family moved to Casa Grande around 10 years ago, a few years after the 2008 recession,” she said. “My family had lost their house due to the recession. Our house was foreclosed on.
