Forbes’ Arizona billionaires club

The world lost a few billionaires in 2021, but in Arizona, the number held steady. Just like last year, 10 Arizonans appeared on Forbes magazine’s list of The Richest People in the World, but unlike last year, only one of them landed among the top 500.

Ernest Garcia II, the founder of DriveTime Automotive and the top shareholder of Carvana (NYSE: CVNA), is still the richest Arizonan on the 2022 Forbes list, though his position on the list, No. 246, and his net worth, $8.6 billion, both dropped precipitously this year.
