Large mixed-use project gets green light in Peoria

A mixed-use center received the green light needed to build on about 45 acres in Peoria after dozens of residents showed up to oppose or support the development.

The project, known as The Trailhead, was initially planned as an upscale lifestyle shopping center for the northeast corner of Happy Valley Road and 83rd Avenue at the base of the Sunrise Mountain Preserve.
