Banner submits plans for Scottsdale medical campus

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Banner Health has submitted plans for a new medical campus and hospital in Scottsdale near Hayden Road and the Loop 101 freeway.

Banner’s plans call for a 685,000-square foot new hospital with 300 licensed beds and 20 observation beds. The new hospital building will be five stories tall (94 feet).

The city is being asked to approve a conditional use permit for a helipad at the new hospital. Banner is also seeking city approvals for increased height. Current zoning allows for a maximum height of 48 feet.

Scottsdale is being asked to change the zoning for the 46-acre vacant parcel from Planned Community District (P-C) to Planned Community District, Commercial Office (P-C C-O).

Banner also wants to build a new 90,000-square-foot, three-story cancer center and as much as 175,500 square feet of medical office space at the planned campus.
