ELOY — For the past few years, the Eloy City Council has been seeking options on what the future of the Dust Bowl Theatre will be. Now, after a recommendation from the Eloy Revitalization Commission, the council will soon be making its decision regarding the building.
During Monday’s meeting, the council was presented with three options — tear down the building, refurbish it or stabilize it. The commission’s recommendation was to stabilize it, which would entail repairing the structural damage on the exterior as well as repairing the roof of the old building.
Stabilizing the broken-down building would come with a steep price tag, however, with the estimation being between $1.1 million and $1.5 million.
