Goodyear planning commission approves rezone for industrial use

By Your Valley

Goodyear’s Planning and Zoning Commission has voted to approve two separate rezoning requests near the south side of Camelback Road west of Cotton Lane for light industrial use.

The two separate sites make up a combined 36 acres and were rezoned from planned area development and commercial uses.

In the mid-2000s, Goodyear City Council amended the area’s agricultural zoning to allow for a development known as the Camelback 303 Commerce Park, a project that was eventually abandoned.

While the sites are contiguous and of similar size, they are owned by separate entities: Via West and Scottsdale Investment Management – both represented by the same firm.
