By Jordan Rogers | Peoria Times

Mayor Cathy Carlat wrapped up her 2022 State of the City address tour of seven community events, reaching more than 600 residents.

Carlat, whose final term as mayor ends in January, highlighted significant growth in Peoria under her watch via video.

“Peoria has grown — and continues to grow — fast,” Carlat said. “A critical part of my job is to plan for our future, to ensure we remain a safe and vibrant community. This recognition and commitment to elevating our city is what propelled my journey with Peoria.”

The video celebrates the addition of 30 public safety positions to stay ahead of growth; a renovation and modernization of the Peoria Main Library; and business, infrastructure and water system expansions.
