New homes set to rise in Sorrento

By Jay Taylor | InMaricopa

Construction of 455 new homes at Sorrento may begin.

Maricopa City Council Tuesday granted final plat approval to subdivide four parcels in Sorrento, paving the way for developer AZALTA LLLP to build single-family homes at the southwest corner of Bowlin and Hartman roads.

The area, known as Sorrento Phase 2, includes a total of five parcels – four residential subdivisions, plus a future school site. It sits between the western edge of current Sorrento homesites and the Santa Rosa Wash.

Phase 3 of Sorrento, to be developed in the future, will include 294 residential lots. Phase 4, the final phase which will complete buildout of the community, encompasses five parcels with an additional 540 lots.

No timeline for phases 3 and 4 was provided.
