Scottsdale to hold public meetings on care home zoning

The City of Scottsdale will hold public meetings at home next month on proposed changes and modifications to the municipal text amendment related to disability accommodations at care homes.

The city is also looking to clarify language and definitions of care home and making sure local zoning meshes with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Housing Act and state regulations via the Arizona Department of Health Services.

A main focus of the text amendment and zoning ordinance changes related to disability accommodations at home care facilities and how city zoning officers can approach such requests.

The public meetings are scheduled for Thursday, June 9, at the Granite Reef Senior Center and Thursday, June 16, at the Via Linda Senior Center.

Both events start at 5:30 p.m.
