Lauded as “a force to be reckoned with,” U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona was named to Time magazine’s 2022 list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
This year’s edition of the wide-ranging Time100, which was released Monday, is broken down into six categories: artists, innovators, titans, leaders, icons and pioneers.
Sinema is one of 23 names in the leaders section, alongside the likes of podcaster Joe Rogan, Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson and multiple presidents, including Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Our hope is that the Time100 list is not simply a recognition of influence but a study in how influence can be wielded,” Edward Felsenthal, the magazine’s editor-in-chief and CEO, wrote in an article explaining the selection process.
