The skyline of Downtown Phoenix is constantly evolving. Stand on any corner and you’ll likely see a construction project in progress. Here are 10 Downtown Phoenix construction projects that are currently being built and will likely change the way we live, work, and play in the city.
Central Station
Two high rise towers will soon bring new residential offerings, student housing, retail and office suites to the transit center at Central and Van Buren. A total of 365 luxury for-rent units and 693 student housing beds will be added. Developer Medistar will also incorporate current light rail and bus infrastructure into the completed project.
EcoPhx
Habitat Metro has broken ground on 70 purposefully sustainable apartments on the SW corner of 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt Streets. The completed 5-story project will feature over 3,300 sq ft of retail space, solar energy usage, a car share program, greywater recycling and other traditional residential amenities.
Aspire Fillmore
A 17-story, 254-unit apartment complex by Aspirant Development is well under way on the NE corner of Fillmore Street and Third Avenue. The project will have ground-floor retail and luxury finishes.
Derby
Transwestern Development Company has begun construction on the Derby, a unique micro-unit project in the heart of Roosevelt Row. The project will be a 21-story high-rise featuring 222 residential units over six stories of above-ground parking. All units will come furnished and will average 350-400 sq ft.
Valley Metro Downtown Hub
Valley Metro is extending their light rail system South and West with the addition of several new platforms in Downtown as well as a new Downtown Station Hub at the intersection of Central and Washington. Due for completion by 2024.
The Ellis
The 1922 Ellis building is currently undergoing a $10 million dollar renovation. The completed project will feature ground-floor retail, a daycare, speakeasy, wellness studio, co-living and co-working.
Moon Tower
Developer Lincoln Ventures has begun construction on a new 24-story, 326-unit multifamily development. The project will feature luxury amenities, ground-floor retail and is expected to complete in June 2023.
