Apartments planned at Sossaman, Elliot in Mesa

Preliminary design for a 372-unit apartment complex on 18.6 acres east of Sossaman Road on the south side of Elliot Road recently was discussed by the Mesa Design Review Board.

A total of 781 parking stalls are required and 782 parking stalls are proposed for the development within a portion of Hawes Crossing Village 2, Staff Planner Sean Pesek said at the board’s May 10 meeting.

“You can see that buildings three, four, five and 15 are pushed up toward Elliot and the future alignment of Arcadia Street so parking is located to the side and rear of the street-facing buildings,” he said.

The applicant is seeking an alternate landscape plan reduction of foundation base along the exterior walls of the public entrance, he said.
