Roers multifamily development receives approval from Maricopa council

By Kimlye Stager | Pinal Central

MARICOPA — In approving the latest multifamily development proposal, members of the Maricopa City Council stated Tuesday that higher density housing doesn’t mean lowering neighboring property values.
During the council meeting on Tuesday, a request was made by Greg Davis of Iplan Consulting on behalf of Roers Companies to change the existing general plan use of public/institutional to high-density residential along with the zoning from general business to high-density residential.

On May 23, the Planning and Zoning Commission approved this development.

The Roers multifamily development is located on Porter Road southwest of the intersection with Iron Point Road.

It’s a vacant 10-acre lot with a 200-unit mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units from 850 to 1,250 square feet at 20 units per net acre.
