Apache Junction council, mayor candidates discuss issues at forum

Four candidates vying for three seats on the Apache Junction City Council and two candidates for mayor recently participated in a meet-and-greet and forum co-sponsored by the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent and VFW Post No. 7968.

The event took place June 22 at VFW Post No. 7968, 250 S. Phelps Drive in Apache Junction.

The forum was moderated by Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent News Editor Richard H. Dyer.
Candidates had an equal time to present their views, with each given 2 minutes to answer a question. Some questions came from the moderator, others were emailed from local voters and questions also came from the audience. Candidates were not been given copies of the questions ahead of time.

Mayoral candidates Mehmood “Mo” Mohiuddin and Chip Wilson; and council candidates Darryl Cross, Ari Kalan, Robert Schroeder and Bryan Soller attended.
