Brookfield Residential — which has invested $1 billion developing master-planned communities in Arizona — now will start building its own homes beginning this fall.
Since entering the Arizona market in 2012, the Calgary, Canada-based developer always had plans to build its own homes here, said Nicole Burdette, president of Brookfield’s land and housing development for the southern California market.
“The plan has always been to bring homebuilding to every place we are developing a community,” she said. “Because we have this land base in Arizona with these master plans, it makes it easier to step into homebuilding.”
