The Phoenician Resort is poised to take its next step in expansion, adding five luxury condominium timeshare units next to the resort entrance at the foot of Camelback Mountain in east Phoenix.
The addition is part of 312 new residential and hotel units planned at the resort, a change that shrunk the resort’s 27-hole golf course to 18 holes.
The five new condos, northeast of Phoenician Boulevard and Camelback Road are added to six existing vacation ownership properties immediately to the east. A planned-unit development document for the Phoenician Resort states the properties are approved for a total of 12 units, but, with the five being added, only 11 total are planned.
The developer received a time extension for its site plan approval as it is required to have the city approve the abandonment of a drainage easement through the 0.85-acre property before the site plan can be approved.
