CG commission overrules staff, recommends residential land use

CASA GRANDE — The Planning and Zoning Commission has unanimously approved, over staff objections, a recommendation that land usage on a west-side parcel change from Manufacturing and Industry to Residential. 

The application was made by Gino Tarantini of Tarantini Family Limited Partnership, a Scottsdale business, for the contentious 127-acre site at the southeast corner of Thornton Road and Cottonwood Lane.

City Planner Joe Horn outlined to the commission the history of the site, which has undergone numerous zoning changes accompanied with over 300 code violations.
