Corning to establish manufacturing plant in Gilbert

Corning Incorporated announced on Tuesday that it would establish a new manufacturing facility in Gilbert to make optical cables that will be used to expand internet access across the West.

Corning (NYSE: GLW) expects to hire 250 people at the forthcoming facility, which is scheduled to open in 2024. Corning said the new site will be the industry’s westernmost U.S. manufacturing site for optical cable.
