National retailer’s new distribution center slated to bring more than 1,300 jobs to the Valley

Newly released documents show that Ross Store Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ROST) plans for a massive distribution center could have a big economic impact on the West Valley.

The off-price retailer is making plans to build a 1.7 million square-foot distribution center in the city of Buckeye on about 224 acres at the southwest corner of Southern Avenue and Watson Road. The warehouse will be the company’s first in Arizona and will serve as a distribution center for clothing, footwear, furniture and houseware for Ross retail stores across the U.S., according to Maricopa County documents.
