Along with addressing the errors that took place during the primary election, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors also looked at major comprehensive plan amendments for rezoning.
Much of the Thursday, Aug. 11 meeting was spent on work sessions discussing at least three major amendments to the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan. The first public hearings on the changes will take place on Thursday, Sept. 1.
Supervisors discussed a proposal by SWCA Environmental Consultants for Cielo Solar and Storage project to redesignate 923 acres from medium low density residential (MLDR) and employment to green energy production for a proposed large-scale photovoltaic solar generation facility located south of central Coolidge and east of central Casa Grande.
Also discussed was a proposal by Tetra Tech for Cameron Solar Project to redesignate more than 888 acres from MLDR and open space to green energy production and open space for a photovoltaic solar power plant adjacent to Florence and half a mile north of Coolidge.
