Things get testy as Florence Council tables approval of storage facility

Fireworks erupted at last night’s Florence Town Council meeting before a vote to table a request for a conditional use permit for a self-storage facility proposed at the southeast corner of State Route 79 and Florence Heights Drive.

At its Tuesday, July 5 meeting, council sent back the request for the conditional use permit to the Planning & Zoning Commission because councilmembers felt there were too many unaddressed issues regarding the facility.
After the issues specified by council were addressed, Planning & Zoning once again recommended approval of the conditional use permit.
