Wigwam owners seek controversial rezone

[JDM PARTNERS]

By Independent Newsmedia

Investment firm JDM Partners is asking Litchfield Park to take another look at a proposed mixed-use development on the northwest corner of Litchfield Road and Wigwam Boulevard.

JDM Partners, which also owns the Wigwam, is envisioning 184 apartment units and 28 townhomes, as well as 14,000 square feet of neighborhood retail space on the roughly 14 acres of vacant land.

It’s not the first time JDM Partners has asked for permission to build such a project on the space.

JDM initially proposed just 150 residential units on the space, then in 2018, the firm asked for permission to build 312 multifamily residential units instead in a controversial project it called Cornerstone at the Park.

At the time, the space was zoned residential and retail and had “a minimum requirement of 75,000 square feet of commercial,” the Independent reported at the time.
