Arizona State University has been named the nation’s most innovative university for the 8th year in a row.
The news came in the annual U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings. ASU bested Georgia State University, Carnegie Mellon University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University for the honor.
The 2022-2023 report serves as a guide for prospective college students and their families. The rankings evaluate approximately 1,500 colleges and universities on 17 measures of academic quality. Outcome measures, including graduation rates, graduate indebtedness and social mobility indicators, are the most heavily weighted factors in the report’s methodology at 40%. In addition to the overall Best Colleges rankings, other categories in the report include Best Value Schools, Top Public Schools and A-plus Schools for B Students.
On the list of Top National Schools, ASU ranked No. 121 with an overall score of 58 out of 100. It was slightly below the university’s placement from last year, which was 117th. Elsewhere in the state, University of Arizona came in at No. 105 and Northern Arizona University ranked 317th.
