CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande City Council approved a 120-acre sale of city land at Pinal Avenue and Hopi Drive Monday despite strong opposition from Councilmember Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons.
The property, including two parcels of 100 and 20 acres, will be sold to Asset Management Partners MH on the condition that both parcels be zoned and subsequently developed to provide 480 manufactured home sites, with off-street parking, community clubhouse, swimming pool, playground and dog space.
Fitzgibbons said the city could do better in developing the site. The vote was 5-2 in favor, with Mayor Pro Tem Dick Powell also voting against the sale.
