A 56-unit leased apartment complex tentatively known as Circle Trail Suites is planned at the northeast corner of San Marcos Drive and Superstition Boulevard in Apache Junction.
The Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously Aug. 23 to approve a conditional use permit to facilitate the development, including adding four guest parking spaces.
The proposed site plan for the two-story development shows it is a gated community with a primary access at San Marcos Drive. An emergency access gate is shown at North Monterey Drive, Max Frank, a planning intern for the city of Apache Junction, said at the commission meeting.
“It is surrounded by a 6-foot-4-inch wall and there are three pedestrian access gates off of Superstition Boulevard. The community is of four three-plex units and four four-plex units and each of the units has a two-car garage facing the private driveway. There are also 16 guest parking spaces located inside of the community and a few externally right by the entrance/exit gate,” he said.
