One year after the DC Ranch Association sought to remove 670 trees from the Arcadia at Silverleaf neighborhood, the issue has not gone away.
Over the past 12 months, DC Ranch Association and the city have worked together to address environmental concerns among other aspects. The association has, in recent months, begun removing several of the alleged problematic Sissoo trees, and new trees are expected to be planted this month.
Most recently, however, a lawsuit was filed against the association in Maricopa County Superior Court.
In summer 2021, DC Ranch asked the city of Scottsdale for approval to remove 670 Sissoo trees from its Arcadia at Silverleaf neighborhood because of aggressive root damage occurring. At the time, the association was seeking to ask Scottsdale’s Development Review Board for approval to remove the trees, which would put the brunt of cost to remove those trees on the 123 homeowners. It was estimated to be $16,341 per home.
