Sun City Home Owners Association officials and residents are marshaling their forces to again oppose a permit that would allow an underage resident in the age restricted community.
It is the second permit requested this year and was filed Oct. 12. The first was in May by a woman who wanted her granddaughter to live with her to help provide care. That permit was denied in June by the Maricopa County Board of Adjustment. The latest permit is for a much younger person — a 10-year-old girl.
“These are the first two permits requested, that I am aware of, in the 12 years I have been in Sun City,” said resident Greg Eisert.
The latest request was submitted by Kenny Hermiz Jajou for a residence in the 11200 block of North 111th Avenue. Attempts to contact Mr. Jajou were unsuccessful.
A hearing to consider the permit request is scheduled 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 in the Maricopa County Supervisors auditorium, 301 W. Jefferson St., Phoenix. SCHOA officials encourage residents to provide their input in opposition to the permit by emailing County Planner Paola Jaramillo at Paola.Jaramillo@maricopa.gov or attending the hearing in person. Comments should reference the case number TU2022041. He said he is aware of 250 residents who have already sent in their comments.
