Wickenburg council gives early nod to care facility

By Ron Eland | The Wickenburg Sun

As noted by a few on the Wickenburg Town Council, a nursing care facility is needed in the community.

Because of that, preliminary preparations received a unanimous vote during Monday’s council meeting.

The request before the council was for rezoning of property from C-3 Major Street Commercial to RM-1 Multiple Family Residential and a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow for an 80-unit nursing care facility. Both requests are related to an application for an assisted living and memory care facility near the northwest intersection of Tegner Street and Bralliar Road. The CUP approves the use with a reduced setbacks as required by the Town.
The Wickenburg Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of this request during its Sept. 29 meeting.
