CASA GRANDE — Improvements and the installation of aviation-related infrastructure for the Casa Grande Municipal Airport moved a step closer after the final public information workshop was conducted at the airport on Thursday.
The airport has previously hosted workshops which have been facilitated by Scottsdale based airport consultants Coffman Associates.
Coffman principal Matt Quick, associate Chandra Burks and Airport Manager Dave Reffner provided an update regarding the airport’s future.
Quick told the workshop that one of the key findings in his appraisal of Casa Grande’s airport operations was an increase in aviation traffic which would see a need for expansion of aircraft parking facilities and hanger space.
“One of the things we are projecting in the forecast is an increase in base aircraft and then an increase obviously in annual aircraft operations,” stated Quick. “With those indicators obviously comes the need for more aircraft parking, apron space and more hangers to house the aircraft and even an expansion potentially of the terminal building. This facility in the future could be enlarged to accommodate future growth and activity.”
