The city of Goodyear has named a new deputy city manager.
Andy Granger was hired after a nationwide search and will start in his new role on Jan. 9, the city announced.

After a nationwide recruitment process, Andy Granger has been selected to join Goodyear’s executive team as Deputy City Manager and will start in his new role on January 9, 2023.
“I’m extremely excited to join a fast-growing, well-run city with a robust leadership team,” said Andy. “It’s an incredible opportunity to be able to join Goodyear at this point in time and I’m so fortunate to be part of it.”
Andy brings a wealth of experience to this position. While he began his engineering career in the private sector, he now has more than 20 years in local government having managed nearly every department function. For the last five years, he has served as Deputy City Manager for the city of Peoria where has managed several departments including Police, Fire, Finance, Budget, Human Resources, Public Works, Utilities, Development & Engineering, Planning & Community Development, Information Technology, City Clerk, Internal Audit and Sustainability. Before that, he served as Peoria’s Director of Development and Engineering for nine years. Additionally, he spent eight years with the city of Phoenix in a variety of roles, but ultimately serving as Deputy Director of Development Services.
“Andy has great depth of experience in many of the service areas that are important to Goodyear,” said City Manager Julie Karins. “He is no stranger to the West Valley and is familiar with the issues facing our region. His leadership and experience are extremely valuable right now in a time when our city is experiencing explosive change and growth.”
Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from Arizona State University and is a registered civil engineer.
