An industrial business will repair construction equipment beneath arched canopies and repurposed shipping containers south of State Route 24 Gateway Freeway on the east side of Mountain Road in Mesa.
The landscaping and look of the development on 5 acres were discussed at the Oct. 11 meeting of the Mesa Design Review Board.
The site is to be developed as a contractors yard for a construction company, with buildings and landscaping, Staff Planner Jennifer Merrill said at the board meeting.
“There are 14 shipping containers and they are arranged into an E-shaped building. There’s also canopies that are arched and they’re made out of PVC and they span the spaces in-between the shipping containers. And underneath those canopies they are going to be used for vehicle and equipment repair. On the left side of the buildings are screen walls and they will screen the vehicle repair areas that are under the canopies,” she said.
