FLORENCE — Over the objections of area residents, a 692-home subdivision 14 miles southwest of Maricopa received approval from the Pinal County Board of Supervisors Wednesday.
“So when is the dollar more important than the neighbors who already live out there and treasure their rural way of life?” Hidden Valley-area resident Robyn Davis asked.
But Supervisor Steve Miller, R-Casa Grande, said it’s unfortunate Pinal County has reached the stage where “we were supposed to close the doors” and “nobody’s going to move here anymore, we’re not going to develop anymore. … We (the Board of Supervisors) didn’t get the memo.”
