In Gilbert, Arizona, national home builder Taylor Morrison has announced plans to build and donate an initial six fully furnished homes to the Banner Health Foundation. Supporting Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Home Away from Home program, the six homes will provide housing assistance to patients who travel far distances for care at Banner MD Anderson.
“Treatment is complex and emotional, but, through our donation, we treasure the opportunity to flex our strengths as a home builder to build places of sanctuary for patients and their loved ones while they navigate this challenging time in their lives,” says Taylor Morrison chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer. “For Taylor Morrison to play a role in offering some relief and enabling patients to focus on healing is such a gift.”
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes will feature floor plans from the builder’s newly introduced build-to-rent brand, Yardly. Each cottage will include a kitchen, laundry, and a gathering room and will be pet-friendly, with doggy doors and private backyards.
Upon completion, the community will have a total of 16 homes, adjacent to the Banner Gateway Medical Center campus where Banner MD Anderson is located. Taylor Morrison will start phase one of building the six of 16 homes in summer 2023 and estimates completion by summer 2024.
