A multiple-residence development is to be constructed on 62 acres west of Hawes Road and east of Sossaman Road on the south side of Elliot Road in Mesa.
The landscaping and look of the first phase of development of Hawes Crossing MX Village 2 were discussed at the Tuesday Jan. 10 meeting of the Mesa Design Review Board.
The first phase is approximately 20 acres, Staff Planner Sean Pesek said at the meeting.
“The applicant is proposing 14 three-story buildings — 419 total units in phase 1. Amenities include a swimming pool, playground space, trails and then a pedestrian plaza, So a very amenity-rich development,” he said.
Teresa Forsberg of ESG Architecture and Design is the applicant; Trammell Crow Co. is the owner.
One-, two- and three-bedroom dwelling units are spread out in a variety of styles, according to a written project narrative.
“The proposed development is a luxury residential community that consists of a variety of three-story multifamily buildings and three live/work-unit buildings on a 20.6-acre site,” it states. “The project will cater to working professionals and families that want to take advantage of Mesa’s live, learn, work and play community. The project fills the strong demand for luxury housing opportunities in this rapidly growing area.”
