Maricopa P&Z OKs rezoning for new community

MARICOPA — Arden Trails community has received approval for rezoning by the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission and will move into the next steps of the development process.

At Monday’s meeting, a rezoning request was made by TerraWest Communities on behalf of JEN Arizona 63 LLC for 308 acres of the Hartman Ranch planned area development, proposed in 2006, to Arden Trails PAD to develop a single-family, master-planned residential subdivision.

The developers want to create a standalone PAD to bring all the development standards “up to speed” with the current zoning standards. It allows them to have different housing types such as traditional detached and attached housing product options.
