Prescott Interim City Manager Tyler Goodman
By John Heiney, Prescott Community Outreach Manager
Prescott City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to name Tyler Goodman Interim City Manager effective immediately. Goodman has worked for the City since 2016, and was named Deputy City Manager in January of 2022.
In December City Manager Michael Lamar submitted his letter of resignation to City Council. His last day will be February 14, 2023. During the interim period, the City Manager will work with the Interim City Manager to ensure a smooth transition while the City searches for a replacement.
The City of Prescott will use executive search firm Columbia ltd to conduct and manage the nationwide search for a new City Manager. The Mayor and City Council will meet with Columbia ltd on Monday, January 9th to discuss timing and next steps in the recruitment process. Columbia assisted the City in filling the City Attorney position in 2022.
Goodman was raised in Prescott and began working for the City in February 2016 after serving a two-year church mission in Argentina and attending two universities. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Brigham Young University. He is a member of both the International City/County Manager Association and the Arizona City/County Manager Association.
