Phelan Development broke ground on its Pecos Center I last Thursday with a ceremony in Southeast Mesa. The groundbreaking event included representatives from CBRE, Phelan Development, the City of Mesa, Alston Construction Company and Calvin J. Coatsworth Architects.
“We are very excited to be starting on our sixth, seventh and eighth building in Mesa, Arizona,” said Teresa Corral, Phelan Development’s Partner, at the groundbreaking. “The City’s PREOZ zoning designation was a useful tool in our entitlement process, and this business-friendly zoning allows for manufacturing, assembly, and general industrial tenants alike.”
City of Mesa Mayor John Giles spoke at the Pecos Center groundbreaking ceremony in appreciation of Phelan’s development investment in the city, “We share our congratulations on their latest project in Southeast Mesa. It’s great to see the addition of in-demand space in the Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone as more and more businesses are eager to be part of the growth in the Mesa Gateway area.”
The project is spread across three buildings totaling 474,309 sq. ft. and is expected to be complete in the winter of 2024. Jackie Orcutt, Jonathan Teeter and John Grady of CBRE in Phoenix are the leasing agents for the complex.
