COOLIDGE — The Coolidge Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended to the City Council rezoning for about 70 acres for three projects by Edgewood Development.
The parcels, located at the southeast corner of Coolidge Avenue and Ninth Street, would consist of condominiums, commercial space and rental housing.
One concern from the public at the March 8 meeting was the close proximity to West Elementary School on Coolidge Avenue.
The applicants assured the commission that the point would be addressed.
The vacant lot sitting at the most northern section of Coolidge Avenue and Ninth Street is intended to serve as a commercial services location for retail, office space for small business and commercial.
The second parcel is intended to serve as a multifamily rental community in groups of five or six residences.
According to the property overview, there would be 227 homes in 41 buildings with 7.9 acres of open space and 534 stalls for parking.
There would also be a fitness center, pool, jacuzzi, grills, ramadas and turf areas.
