Avondale council paves way for apartment complex

The Avondale City Council OK’d the building of an apartment complex and the rezoning of 7 acres of land at its monthly meeting on Feb. 1.

Developer Sharat Kanaka’s Nirvana at Harbor Shores is a proposed 172-unit multifamily residential apartment development at McDowell Road and Harbor Shores Boulevard.

The proposed development will have nine buildings with 97 one-bedroom apartments and 75 two-bedroom apartments. It will also contain many amenities, including a garden, fireplace and fitness area.

The property will be near Copper Springs health care facility as well as a BioLife Plasma Services building and the Avondale Fire and Rescue Station.
