CG planning panel to meet on business center

CASA GRANDE — The city Planning and Zoning Commission will sit this Thursday away from its usual surroundings at City Hall and deliberate at the Community Recreation Center.

The agenda is relatively short with only one planning matter up for discussion before the commissioners.

Applicant Jack Gilmore of Gilmore Planning & Landscape Architecture of Phoenix is requesting on behalf of the Coolidge-based New Castle Dome Ltd Partnership LLC a major general plan amendment applicable to property near the northeast corner of Cottonwood Lane and Henness Road. Gilmore is requesting that land use be changed from Neighborhoods to Commerce and Business.

The request focuses on a 162-acre portion of a 317-acre parcel in the western half of the site for a light industrial park.

Planning staff noted that the eastern sector of the site “is already within the Commerce and Business category, therefore, this amendment would enable the entire parcel to be homogeneously developed within the same general plan category.”
