After days of testimony, an Arizona Corporation Commission hearing on an unincorporated community’s water woes has finally wrapped up.
The hearing was a crucial step toward the commission potentially approving an application from Epcor, a private utility company regulated by the state, to serve Rio Verde Foothills, a community that lost its water supply in January.
Service by Epcor has been the main solution on the table for the neighborhood since a proposal to create a water-taxing district was defeated last year. During the hearing, company officials were questioned for hours about their plans.
