Maricopa commission approves plans for large apartment complex

By Kimlye Stager | Pinal Central

The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the Apartments at Honeycutt multifamily housing development at Monday’s meeting.

The request was made by Alan Beaudoin and Rachael Smith of Norris Design on behalf of the property owner, Shaun Ridge LLC, and developer DBG Properties.

It was for review and approval of landscape, site, photometric and elevation plans of a 574-unit multifamily residential development, the Apartments at Honeycutt project, on about 20 acres.

This site is located near the southeast corner of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and John Wayne Parkway, further down from the currently dead-end Honeycutt Avenue, which will be constructed out to the development by the city.

The general land use plan is high-density residential and the zoning is planned area development.
