MARICOPA — The highly anticipated Medical and Innovation Campus should bring a “new worldview” to Maricopa by improving the quality of life and advancing medical and sports knowledge.
It is to be a 28.3-acre planned area development on the southeast corner of North John Wayne Parkway and West Bowlin Road near Copper Sky Recreation Complex.
Dr. Ed Johnson is on the board of the project’s developer, S3 Biotech LLC.
District 3, the project’s overall name, is to offer around 11,500 construction jobs and 3,000 permanent, on-site jobs.
Phase 1A contains the medical campus.
An emergency hospital would have 24/7 care with 20 combined standard and intensive care beds, MRI and CT scan machines, a large physical therapy program, a Class 3 operating room and general procedure room and a large outdoor terrace next to the family waiting room.
