CG developments advance amid public criticism

CASA GRANDE — Before a large crowd of opponents at Thursday’s city Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, proposals for major residential and commercial developments received positive recommendations.

Three planning requests regarding a site near Rodeo Road and Pueblo Street and a fourth at Rodeo and Trekell roads were put forth to the commission to support residential development.

Applicant Alex Fish of ABLA Studio Tempe on behalf of Florida-based Jodil Investments LLC was seeking a minor general plan amendment, a zone change from Planned Area Development (medium and low density) to PAD (medium density).

Another two zone change requests regarded a “planned area development (commercial, senior living and medium density residential) to PAD (commercial and high density residential) for The Village PAD, located at the southeast corner of Rodeo and Trekell on 35 acres.

The other zone changes were a request from “planned area development (office/commercial and low-density residential) to PAD for (commercial and medium-density residential) for the Enclave PAD, located approximately 1,000 feet south of the southeast corner of Rodeo and Trekell on 31 acres.
