ELOY — As the city of Eloy continues to grow, providing more housing options for citizens is one of the top priorities for the Eloy City Council. After Monday’s council meeting, a new residential development seems to be getting off the ground.
At the meeting, the council voted unanimously to approve a preliminary plat for the Vista de Picacho community. The development sits on approximately 106 acres on the corner of 11 Mile Corner Road and the Central Arizona Project canal.
The community will include around 365 single-family homes with a minimum lot size of 6,000 square feet. The project also provides amenities, trails and pedestrian connections linking the neighborhood with community amenities.
The project was originally approved by the Eloy Planning and Zoning Commission in August 2022. However, the developer of the project, Vista de Picacho LLC, was forced to halt the development due to market changes.
