The Goodyear Planning and Zoning Commission voted 3-2 Wednesday to recommend approval for a use permit for a self-storage facility in the Montecito community in rural southern Goodyear.
Chairman Jason Kish was absent during the meeting and vote.
Prior to the approval, the commission saw opposition to a proposed self-storage development application via public comments from nearby residents.
Neal Wilson, who previously posted opposition to the project on his community’s Facebook page, said the facility could be a fire hazard.
