Maricopa vice mayor announces run for Pinal supervisor

MARICOPA — Maricopa Vice Mayor Rich Vitiello announced his run in the 2024 election for the District 1 Pinal County Supervisor position.

According to a press release, he made this announcement over the weekend during a Republican Precinct Committee meeting.

Vitiello will be running for the seat currently held by Republican Kevin Cavanaugh in a district that was the topic of much scrutiny during the redistricting process in 2022. Initially, the new boundaries split Maricopa in two, but was eventually replaced by a map that instead split Cavanaugh’s listed hometown of Coolidge in three.
